As of 1/1/04, J P Mascaro & Sons (800-243-7575) is the new refuse hauler for SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP. If your old collection day was Friday it will remain Friday, any other collection days will switch to Thursdays.
Also, residents can now bring cardboard to the Township Building recycling
dumpster if they wish it to be recycled.
The more we get the more grant money we receive. If it is placed at the curb
with their refuse it will not be recycled.

Hazardous waste, liquids, paints or chemical thinners

Non-compactible items (bricks, concrete, blacktop, etc)

Do
not set out your paper items during inclement weather, save for next week.
All
other items not listed above for recycling should be placed in your refuse.
SPECIAL
ITEMS COLLECTION
Specific
dates will be set at each particular time of year and posted in local newspapers
for special items removal, such as leaves and holiday trees and decor.
The
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection suggests leaving lawn
trimmings on the lawn which acts as a natural mulch and suggests mulching the
fall season leaves into your lawn with a mulching lawnmower if at all possible.
LEAF
COLLECTION:
Place
leaves in biodegradable paper bags supplied by the Township at the curb on
specified dates. Bags are to be used on these dates only. Please
only take as many as you need -- do not use them throughout the
year.

Place
trees at the curb on specified dates
